Magazine Name : Oil Spoils

My Magazine will be more a way for curators and wholesalers to see and browse the upcoming talent the magazine will act as the buffer/broker for the transactions that take place. There is already an existing magazine called Art Forum. They don't actually deal but a lot of galleries and artist pay good money for valuable space. We will focus only on oil paintings no abstract modern nonsense .

The target demographic would be students teachers dealers and collectors of art. I would say on a pure aesthetic value it would even appeal to the common day person because of the beatiful works being displayed.

Art Forum and other lower end art magazines have in the recent years been accused of being biased and preferential in its assessment and managing of the works that they display. We will differ by not charging our advertisers a penny instead we ask only of a very modest 5 percent on all transactions involving any of the works in the catalog. We will never let money sully our judgement. With a smaller more focused selection of works it will breed an intense but healthy competition.

For the cover we will keep it very simple white border around one full sized image that the editorial staff will decide on.
